  • Provide information to your young employees that is appropriate to their level of understanding
  • Explain the behavioural standards expected of your young employee in the workplace from the outset of their employment
  • Recognise and be considerate of any special needs of your young employees, including study requirements
  • Ensure that any performance management is conducted in a manner that takes into consideration their inexperience in workplace matters, including giving them the opportunity to seek assistance from a parent, guardian or other representative
  • Make sure your other employees are aware of their responsibilities in setting a good example
  • Ensure that all employees are aware that bullying in the workplace is not acceptable
