Final call for Zimbabweans to apply for residence
26 february 2007
There are only two days left for Zimbabweans here to take advantage of a special policy to gain New Zealand residence, Department of Labour Deputy Secretary for Workforce Mary Anne Thompson said
“This policy allows Zimbabweans to submit New Zealand residence applications and have the health requirements waived - but it runs out on February 28, 2007.
“We’ve tried to contact everyone who might be eligible, but we want to remind people to make sure they apply for residence to the Department of Labour before the close of business on Wednesday.
“There are no guarantees that people who apply after this date will receive residence,” she said.
Ms Thompson said even if applications were not fully completed, people could begin the process by contacting the Department of Labour on 0508 55 88 55 (outside Auckland) or 914 4100 (inside Auckland).
