New Ministry to be created

The Government has announced it is proposing to create a new Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment to drive economic growth.

The new Ministry will bring together the Ministry of Economic Development, the Ministry of Science and Innovation, the Department of Labour, and the Department of Building and Housing.
The Ministry of Economic Development will act as the foundation of the new Ministry, which is expected to be established by 1 July 2012.
In the meantime the Department of Labour will continue normal service delivery.
