The Female labour market for December 2006 had a working-age population of 1,660,600. Of those 1,015,800 (60.7%) were in the labour force and 644,700 (39.3%) were not in the labour force. Of those in the labour force, 977,400 (96.0%) were employed and 38,400 (3.9%) were unemployed.
