This picture shows a hairdresser in a workplace standing to the side of a customer and cutting her hair. The photo demonstrates good hair dressing technique. The comb is held in the preferred fashion, incorrect combing and cutting technique can lead to occupational overuse syndrome. The comb is held in a spoon grip with the elbow down – this is the preferred technique. Note the hands employ a ‘finger crossed’ grip – the bottom of the second finger is pressing against the top of the first finger – this is highly desirable.
