LABOUR MARKET TERMS

POPULATION: people living in New Zealand.

WORKING-AGE POPULATION: people living in New Zealand aged 15 years and over.

EMPLOYED: people who work at least one hour per week.

UNEMPLOYED: people not in work but who are available and actively seeking work.

LABOUR FORCE: people employed or unemployed.

NOT IN THE LABOUR FORCE: people in the working-age population who are neither employed nor unemployed.
