Immigration Survey Monitoring Programme
The Immigration Survey Monitoring Programme encompasses new migrants to New Zealand (temporary and permanent), employers, and the New Zealand public. Its purpose is to build an evidence base of information about migrants’ settlement and labour market outcomes, employers’ experiences with migrants, and community attitudes towards immigration and migrant integration. Findings will be used for the development of both immigration policy and services aimed at improving migrant settlement.
Upcoming surveys
2011 National Survey of Employers
In September and October 2011, Research New Zealand, a market research company, will be surveying employers on the Department’s behalf.
The survey asks a series of questions to find out employers’ perspectives and practices regarding employment relations, workplace health and safety and employing migrants. The results of this survey will help us identify how we could improve labour market, employment and immigration policies.
