Longitudinal Immigration Survey: New Zealand (LisNZ)

LisNZ is a ground-breaking study that is improving our understanding of the experiences migrants have and their contribution to New Zealand.

Why is LisNZ important?

Immigration is critical to New Zealand’s economy and national identity. About 1 in 4 New Zealand residents are born overseas so it is vital that our immigration policies and processes create positive outcomes for New Zealand.

The main objective of LisNZ is to improve our understanding of settlement processes and outcomes for migrants. The information is helping us develop an understanding of migrants’ contributions to New Zealand, their settlement experiences, and labour market outcomes.
