The growth of the Information Communication Technology sector is a priority for Government and it is important that future labour and skills demands are planned for. The Department will partner with the NZ Information and Communications Technology (NZICT) and government agencies to help address identified skills shortages in this growth sector.

We aim to develop the exchange of relevant labour market information and data, and to facilitate the development of an industry skills plan. Aligning government responses through the education system, vocational training and immigration will form a major part of the planning exercise.
