Case Studies
The Pay and Employment Equity Unit is developing case studies of the experiences of organisations conducting reviews and complying with New Zealand Standard NZS8007:2006 Gender-inclusive Job Evaluation.
The review case studies aim to provide review committees with a further practical resource, alongside the review workbook and the training programmes that are currently provided by the Pay and Employment Equity Unit.
The review case studies provide reflections from participants in the review, from individual and committee perspectives – telling their story, what they did and how they did it, to give a deeper sense of what was done in their organisations and what was found out. Organisations preparing for their reviews will be able to see from the case studies how others engaged with their staff or overcame any challenges a review presented. Because the organisations involved in the reviews are all different, they have gone about things in different ways. The case studies reflect that range of variation.
Information for the review case studies is being gathered from a number of sources, including documentation provided to the Unit throughout the review process, and the resulting reports and response plans. Organisations are asked if they wish to share any documents, such as communications strategies or staff engagement methodologies that they think will be useful to future review committees and project managers. The final case studies are endorsed by the organisations they represent.
The Gender-inclusive Job Evalaution case study looks at compliance with New Zealand Standard NZS 8007:2006 Gender-inclusive Job Evaluation. It demonstrates how the job evaluation process employed by an organisation met the Standard’s requirements. This case study is intended as a resource for organisations undertaking a gender-inclusive job evaluation process.
