Reporting to the International Labour Organisation (ILO) under Article 22 of the ILO Constitution

As a member of the ILO, New Zealand is required to report on its application of ILO Conventions. These reports are statements of current law, policy and practice in New Zealand in relation to the Conventions’ requirements. The reports are produced on a cyclical basis, and are submitted to the ILO following comment from the tripartite partners (the New Zealand Council of Trade Unions (NZCTU), and Business New Zealand) and after obtaining ministerial approval.

As most of the reports provide updates to information already given in earlier reports, some will not include a complete picture of New Zealand’s policy and legislation relating to the Convention in question. Please contact the Department of Labour if you wish to obtain copies of earlier reports.
