The Partners in Action Pledge

Making a real difference to New Zealand’s work toll requires commitment from all parties. This Pledge has been developed as a symbolic acknowledgement of the collaborative approach needed between government, employers, workers, industry groups, unions, and health and safety professionals.

People willing to do their part to reduce the work toll can become Partners in Action with the Department of Labour, the lead agency of the Action Agenda.

Pledge Partners will be kept in the loop about workplace health and safety activities via email and will be recognised on the Department's website.

It’s easy to pledge your commitment; simply email pledge@dol.govt.nz with a completed Pledge form and the following statement:


The Partners in Action Pledge

I confirm that *title of organisation or individual* will become a signatory to the Partners in Action Pledge.

As an *individual or organisation* with a stake in achieving the Workplace Health and Safety Strategy’s vision of ‘healthy people in safe and productive workplaces’, *I or we* accept the challenge to become a Partner in Action with the Department of Labour to reduce New Zealand’s work toll.

As a Partner in Action, *title of organisation or individual* agree(s) to:

  • play an active role within *my or our* area of work to improve health and safety outcomes at work
  • contribute to and support the National Action Agenda, the Sector Action Plans and the Occupation Health Action Plan
  • work towards achieving zero harm in New Zealand workplaces.
