Job Support Scheme – sick leave & bereavement leave entitlements

How does the Job Support Scheme affect entitlements for sick leave and bereavement leave?

The normal rules apply. An employer's obligation to pay for sick leave or bereavement leave will depend on whether the employee would have been at work on the day he or she was sick, injured, or had a bereavement. This will also affect whether or not an employee uses his or her entitlement to sick leave or bereavement leave in such a situation.

To see information on what an employer must consider when deciding if an employee is at work see the Information for Employers.
