ILO World Safety and Health at Work Day April 28th 2008
The ILO estimates that 6,000 workers die each day worldwide as a result of work-related injuries, incidents or illness. And work related deaths appear to be on the rise.
The International Labour Organisation’s World Day for Safety and Health at Work is an international campaign to promote safe, healthy, and decent work. This year, as in previous years, events will be taking place world wide. In New Zealand the event is marked by NZCTU as Worker’s Memorial Day.
Today is the perfect opportunity to kick start your health and safety system or take your health and safety practices to the next level. Not just for the health of your employees, but also for the health of your bottom line. Good health and safety makes good business sense.
